This article gives counterpoint to the rapidly changing scene in the electricity supply industry in the 'western world'. The supply of electricity in 'sunny' countries, that are euphemistically hnown as 'developing' countries, is discussed. These are countries that tend only to find the headlines in newspapers and on TV if there is a war natural disaster or insurrection. But they are also the hind of countries that have demanded the attention of a large number of engineers and others who over the years have been determined to provide affordable and reliable electricity within those countries.
