This edited book is an international collection that aims to broaden the focus of current debates on the issues of work life balance. It offers an international perspective on an area that has often been approached from a single country perspective. Previous work has often focused on the issues of work life balance as faced by working mothers or dual income families, however this collection presents several perspectives that have previosuly been ignored. The chapter, co-authored with Susanne Tietze and Gill Musson, introduces a stakeholder view of work life balance. Focusing on the perspectives of homeworkers, team leaders, managers and office-bound colleagues the chapter provides insight into the extent to which more powerful individuals such as a managers can be better placed to achieve personal and organisational aims around work life balance.
