Group exhibition of 6 artists curated by Erika Winstone for Danielle Arnaud Gallery. This exhibition looked at representations of love in written and visual forms. The artists each selected and presented a text about Love, and made work in response to that text for the exhibition. In my case the text was about a painting by Petrus Christus in the Thyssen collection in Madrid, called The Virgin of the Dry Tree. I showed two works in the exhibition – each a small ‘family’ of paintings on linen and on circular gesso panels. In these works I was extending an interest in how elements of a painting might be separated out to relate to different architectures. This line of research forms a bridge between my practice in site-specific painting and drawing and the making of discrete works on conventional supports.
