The present invention is directed at a system and a device for growing mushrooms. More particularly, a mushroom cultivation pod is presented to address this issue. The pod is catered specially for high-value mushroom farming. A system and method of harvesting such mushrooms are also described. Such pods may potentially be used for other species of mushrooms as well. In some embodiments, the device is constructed to be reusable. The device can be cleaned and reused for new mushroom cultivation, thus eliminating the use of plastic mushroom bags which is not environmentally friendly.
