The chapter presents a research in progress, aimed to collect data on European cheap and ephemeral printed products explicitly aimed at children, and, in parallel, to gather evidence of children consuming cheap print that was not specifically addressed to them. It describes some of these materials, such as ABC's, almanacs for children, and illustrated broadsides drawing transnational comparisons. It also discusses the different sources that allow us to assess the relevance of juvenile audiences to the history of what is broadly defined as popular/cheap print.
