This is the final published version of a book chapter that has been published in its final definitive form by De Gruyter Oldenbourg, 2019.

Abstract

The chapter presents to an international audience my research, published as a monograph in Italian, on the Barbanera almanac, issued yearly from the 18th century up to now. Differently from the abovementioned monograph, it insists on how the almanac succeeded in surviving throughout the century including texts that were borrowed from the most succesful coeval publishing trends.
