This article examines the spatial conditions in Juha Leiviska's architecture in connection with the acclaimed relationship with rationalists like Mies van der Rohe or Neoplasticism. It argues that Leiviska's undulating light has more common with the Finnish expressionism than the rational Finnish architecture. The phenomenolgical approach gives tools to study the mechanism of spatial experiences in Leiviska's pulsating light designs.
