Abstract

© 2018 IEEE. The guest editors of the IEEE Cloud Computing special issue on Biometrics-as-a-Service discuss the benefits and challenges of using cloud computing with biometric authentication systems as well as the articles included in this issue. Three potential research topics are also discussed, including the use of machine/deep-learning techniques to circumvent existing biometric authentication solutions.
