Discusses the extent to which corporate governance structures around the world are converging, and the form such convergence takes. Reviews three conflicting theories over the nature of convergence, suggests how different aspects of corporate governance exhibit different convergence processes, and examines the increasing impact of cross-border share ownership on governance, including the ways in which such foreign ownership drives convergence.
