This is the first article in English presenting the landscape architect Leberecht Migge, whose ideas deeply influenced the work of many modernist architects including Ernst May, Bruno Taut, and Martin Wagner. He was a key player in the garden reform and Siedlung movements. Here, his life and work are summarized and presented in a special issue of this journal dedicated to technology and place.
