This solo collaborative exhibition at Cell Projects, London was created in collaboration with the painter, Celia Hempton and explored the body and its psychological representations through images and objects. The collaboration developed Cuddon’s research into sculptural surfaces and the reciprocity between image and object by interlacing painted and printed textile surfaces (produced by Hempton) amongst Cuddon’s clay sculptures thus stretching the narrative of the works through multiple mediums and surfaces. As well as exhibiting static works the collaboration included a performance (sound and writing) which was presented to accompany the launch of Cuddon’s recent publication ‘Without a Sentence Without a Name’. The exhibition was reviewed by Ceri Hand for This is Tomorrow http://thisistomorrow.info/articles/pontoon-lip-katie-cuddon-and-celia-hempton An interview between Ceri hand and both artists was published in Double Negative http://www.thedoublenegative.co.uk/2014/06/in-conversation-katie-cuddon-and-celia-hempton/ An interview between Marta Ravasi and both artists was published in the Italian/English online Magazine atpdiary.com http://atpdiary.com/exhibit/pontoon-lip-cell-project-space-london/
