Notes: This is a groundbreaking anthology of poet-to-poet or dialogic translation completed over 8 years of workshops and discussions, in which hitherto untranslated poetry in Chinese is translated into English and hitherto untranslated poetry in English is translated into Chinese. Substantial introductions are providied by both editors setting out the history and theory of these translations, which are done by some of the leading poetic figures in both China and the English-speaking world. This is a work of international significance which draws upon two previous publications - the contacts established in translating and editing Jade Ladder: Contemporary Chinese Poetry; and the method of mutual translation developed in translating and editing A Balkan Exchange: Eight Poets from Bulgaria & Britain (Arc Publications, 2007)
