Notes: This is a collection of poetry written in and about Dundee and its environs, beginning in the fifteenth century with an excerpt from Blind Harry's 'The Wllace', including work from the Wedderburns' Gude and Godlie Ballates', and uncovering poetry from nineteenth century authors. Its main focus, however, is on the twentieth century and contemporary poetry, including First World War poets and the post-World War Two Apocalyptic movement, before focussing on the extraordinary efflorescence of Dundee writing in the last forty years, including many prominent Scottish writers such as Douglas Dunn, Kathleen Jamie, Don Paterson, John Burnside, plus prominent visitors like Sean O'Brien and Colette Bryce. The anthology is introduced by an essay contextualising Dundee's role in relation to Scottish literature as a whole.
