This paper is based on an ongoing engagement with a range of organisations in the NE of England and beyond exploring the nature of collaboration within and between the private, public and third sectors. Increasingly, the challenges faced by all three sectors are convergent and include issues of information; information sharing; business cases; governance; identity and managing identity and sustainability. Our work has begun to show that a co-productive approach to these shared challenges can potentially bear fruit in beginning to bring organisations together in addressing the 'multi-ness' of these challenges in a way that supports the development of 'big and rich' pictures that both scale and scope.
