This report describes the work undertaken in the preceding year of this study. A large part of the work has been the development of methods for the rapid evaluation of a latitude, longitude position fix from a given set of Omega lines of position. Details are given of a method for approximating latitude and longitude in a given region by a function of two Omega values (ie tow Omega lane numbers), and also of a method for calculating directly the latitude longitude of a given intersection of two Omega position lines assuming these to be given on a spherical earth. A description of a much more efficient program of 'the full geodesic type' is also presented.
