This paper describes the Superoute 66 Live web site and its impact on the number of passenger boardings on that route. The Superoute 66 project consisted of a range of improvements that were made to a bus service in a semi-rural location in England. Real-time information about the time to arrival of buses on the route was made available via the Internet. The performance of various Intemet-related information-delivery channels which were used to disseminate the real-time information is discussed, together with an assessment of the impact of the web site on the number of passenger boardings. The paper concludes with some suggestions about the efficacy of providing real-time passenger information via the Intemet and on the design of information systems.
